The Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) authorizes and directs criminal and penal prosecutions before the courts on behalf of the Quebec State.
It is a public organization that exercises its powers independently of the government and political authorities. Its work is not influenced by any political, economic, police, media, or public pressure.
The DPCP accompanies victims of a crime through the judicial process, while respecting the rights of accused persons. It thus contributes to protecting the population, fighting crime, and maintaining public trust in the criminal and penal justice system.

General information
Start date : August 2026
Work mode : The offered position is in-person only.
Working hours : In addition to working during the day, Monday to Friday, the job allows for a flexible schedule favoring the balance between your work, studies, and personal life, with adapted hours:
- maximum of fourteen (14) hours per week during study sessions;
- maximum of twenty-one (21) hours per week during reading/relaxation weeks;
- maximum of thirty-five (35) hours per week during the summer period and the Christmas break.

The South Quebec Regional Office authorizes and directs criminal prosecutions involving adult accused persons before the courts, on behalf of the Quebec State.
Its staff consists of approximately 150 employees, distributed across 7 service points covering the regions of Montérégie and Estrie.
These teams interact with victims and witnesses of criminal offenses, as well as with numerous partners and collaborators, such as various police services, defense lawyers, and the Network of Crime Victim Assistance Centers.
Your role in our team
- Entering requests to initiate proceedings;
- Retrieving and filing cases for court roles;
- Filing various documents in judicial files in the file room;
- Entering files to be archived;
- All other tasks supporting the team of judicial activities agents.

We offer a minimum hourly rate of 21.65 $. A 6.5% surcharge is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.
It is possible that, upon completion of your studies and under certain conditions, you may participate in a special selection process to access a regular or occasional job.

- You have a good mastery of office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- You are a motivated, curious person who enjoys learning;
- You are dynamic and enjoy working in a team.
Conditions for holding a student job
- In addition to meeting the above profile, you will need to:
- be in the process of obtaining a high school diploma;
- OR
- hold a high school diploma AND be enrolled full-time in a first-year college or university program of study (or part-time if you are in your penultimate or final session of your program of study).
- be legally authorized to work in Canada;
- have appropriate French language skills for the job requirements.
Do not forget that hiring is conditional upon the results of a security check.
