  • Find and charge prescriptions and related items.

Administration

  • Receive new prescriptions and renewals according to standardized operating procedures.
  • Prepare and submit orders, except for controlled and narcotic drugs.
  • Check online third-party payer billing and manually manage third-party payer accounts.
  • Answer the phone and consult a pharmacist as needed.
  • Manage received faxes according to pharmacy practice standards.
  • Assist the pharmacist in coordinating reminders.
  • File completed documents accurately according to pharmacy practice standards.

Prescription Operational Procedures

  • Participate in the preparation of prescriptions according to company standards and professional services.
  • Enter data for new prescriptions and manage renewal request processing.
  • Select medications to execute prescriptions according to pharmacy practice standards.
  • Count or measure medications, package, and label prescriptions efficiently according to pharmacy standards.
  • Accurately enter required data and keep it up to date in the relevant pharmacy systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Diploma from a recognized pharmacy technician assistant course, preferably.
  • Previous pharmacy experience, an asset.
  • Effective organizational sense and ability to perform multiple tasks at once.
