Main Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for coordinating and allocating staff and resources to meet service standards for our clients.
- Ensure that subordinates comply with scheduled working hours and duties as per the published daily plan.
- Ensure that passenger services are provided safely, on time, and in accordance with established service level standards for terminal times and performance.
- Quickly address all customer service complaints, emphasizing positive resolution.
- Responsible for staff planning, leadership development, and employee accountability.
- Perform all registration procedures, including processing reservations, ticketing, seat assignment, and announcements at the airport, as well as verifying appropriate international documentation.
- Assist customers with special needs and unaccompanied minors.
- Read and interpret aircraft loading mass and balance instructions, dangerous goods identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage/freight routing labels.
- Ensure the accuracy of all mass and balance requirements.
- When necessary to use jet aircraft, be comfortable working at heights above 15 feet and be responsible for opening/closing the aircraft doors.
- As needed, be able to comfortably and continuously move/lift customer baggage weighing an average of 50 pounds, in some cases over 70 pounds.
- Ensure safe and secure operations in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, and security, and all government regulatory requirements.
- Promote a professional image at all times by applying the company's uniform standards.
- You are held responsible for yourself and your staff to monitor the wearing of the company's uniform, ensuring that no other item than that solely given by Menzies is worn or displayed outside of other company attire.
- Other tasks assigned by direct or direct supervisors.
- Develop and implement a quality assurance program across the entire GH unit.
- Ensure that safety and security procedures comply with standards established in the Menzies Health and Safety Policy Manual and international aviation standards.
- Improve the delivery of Menzies Aviation's products and services by developing a motivated and competent team. Provide reports and service performance measures as needed.
- Represent the company professionally at client/airport meetings as needed.
- Ensure and follow up that all passenger service agents are in compliance with the expectations established in their job descriptions.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure full compliance with airline and AM work procedures.
- Responsible for the disease tracking process through company procedures (RTW).
- Contribute to improving the work environment and workplace.
- Ensure that Menzies Aviation facilities and all related work areas are kept clean, safe, and secure.
- Ensure that all staff receive the SLS information after the information/follow-up session.
- Participate in all internal and airline meetings as needed.
- Participate in all airline actions/exercises in accordance with work procedures or on request.
- Ensure that all airline manuals, procedures, and updates are available and easily accessible to all staff - related services.
- Ensure that all changes within Menzies Aviation that have an impact on passenger service staff are communicated quickly.
- Ensure that the data protection policy is followed by all staff, in accordance with the requirements of the airlines and Menzies Aviation.
- Follow and ensure that all staff comply with daily routines, procedures, LOP, policy, and appearance MA and SLA and our customers' expectations.
- Ensure that regular operational briefings are conducted with passenger service department staff.
- Ensure that tasks are performed in accordance with the specific procedures and policies of the Company and the airlines.
- Required to attend mandatory training imposed by the company and airlines according to the role of the position.
- Ensure that severe disciplinary measures are taken in case of abuse of Company assets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally able to work in Canada;
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience;
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English;
- In-depth knowledge of passenger service operations, aviation security, safety practices, legislation, and customer-supplier relations;
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff;
- Ability to influence, motivate, negotiate, and communicate effectively at all levels;
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Must complete and pass the initial new employee classroom training and on-the-job training;
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record;
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport security clearances;
- Reliability, our customers and your colleagues count on you;
- The position requires long periods of time at the ticket counter and boarding areas; must be able to stand for long periods;
- Must be attentive and set the right example for all staff;
- Must be able to effectively manage human and material resources within the department;
- Organize and have a logical, rational, efficient, and targeted work method;
- Detailed knowledge of airline customers' DCS and manual check-in procedures;
- Detailed knowledge of the customer service program;
- Detailed knowledge of IATA procedures for dangerous goods;
- Comply with the AM uniform and appearance policy;
- Comply with the internal reporting procedure when irregularities occur and report this to the hierarchical manager.
