Health and Safety Manager

Main Responsibilities:

• Implement the company's prevention programs and Hydro-Québec's programs according to ongoing work.
• Identify, document, and quickly correct any deviation or hazardous condition.
• Conduct daily SST inspections and observations, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Lead safety breaks, shift start meetings, and job site committees.
• Participate in accident, incident, or near-miss investigations and propose corrective measures.
• Encourage the reporting of risky situations and high-potential severity events.
• Mobilize internal teams and contractors in the prevention effort.
• Serve as a resource person on SST laws, regulations, and requirements.
• Develop and present SST orientation sessions for new workers.
• Perform planned daily inspections and documented observations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in health and safety, preferably in the construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of SST laws and regulations.
• Good understanding of job site work methods and the nature of work performed.
• Familiarity with Hydro-Québec's Safety Code of Practice (an asset).
• Motivational leadership, autonomy, diligence, and decision-making ability.
• Strong communication and influence skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid ASP Construction card and driver's license (mandatory).
• Valid driver's license.

• Compensation: $52,000 to $77,000 per year
