Its support is deployed where it is most useful, particularly in detention, at its day center, and in the community.
Mandate
Under the responsibility of the Community Activities Coordinator, the facilitator ensures the psychosocial follow-up of day center participants, conducts formal meetings, supports life plans, prepares and facilitates group activities, conducts external support, and contributes to community consultation, referral, and external representation as requested by the management. The interventions respect the intervention philosophy of the organization and the requirements of the funders of the day center activities.
Main Responsibilities
Individual Psychosocial Follow-up (Formal Meetings)
- Welcome, needs assessment, and development of the intervention plan (objectives, indicators, schedule).
- Structured follow-up meetings (in-person/telephone).
- Assistance with life plans: housing, employment/training, health/insurance, judicial/administrative procedures.
- Groups & Living Environment
- Prepare and facilitate group workshops/activities (education, life skills, parenting, health, reintegration).
- Contribute to the monthly planning of the day center; co-facilitate recreational or educational activities.
- External Support
- Conduct support (e.g., courts, DPJ, health appointments, partner organizations) according to established criteria.
- Ensure safety and confidentiality during support.
- Consultation, Referral, Representation
- Refer to appropriate resources and ensure inter-organizational follow-up.
- Information Management & Quality
- Maintain clinical files (progress notes, reports) with rigor and confidentiality.
- Contribute to funder reporting and clinical supervision.
- Participate in continuous improvement (protocols, tools, safety).
Desired Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychoeducation, criminology, or related field (or combination of education and experience).
- Experience (2 years): Psychosocial intervention with vulnerable women and/or families; group facilitation; partnership work and multidisciplinary approach.
- Skills: Clinical assessment, intervention plan, documentation; participatory facilitation; knowledge of the community/justice/health network; feminist intersectional approach; clinical judgment, discretion, priority management.
Knowledge of judiciarization is a serious asset.
Special Conditions
- The position requires regular travel to Montreal Island to meet with our service users, as well as within our day center.
- Occasional weekend and evening availability as needed by participants/partners.
- Occasional travel for support and consultation (expenses reimbursed according to policy).
- Adherence to internal policies: safety, confidentiality, information protection, IT usage.
Conditions and Compensation
- Part-time position: 7.5 hours per week, on Mondays.
- Hourly wage: starts at $25 CAD/hour, with positioning at the appropriate scale according to the experience and skills of the selected candidate.
- Work conditions in accordance with ADHARA's internal policies.
- Start date: September 1, 2026
