Home Care Assistant for Elderly

Two possible roles: Light Housekeeping

Regular home maintenance: dusting, vacuuming, floor washing, bathroom, kitchen, light laundry, and general cleaning tasks.

Deep Cleaning / Heavy Housekeeping

More thorough cleaning, more physical tasks, moving light to moderate objects, and reorganizing certain rooms.

Different training is offered depending on the type of service performed.

What we offer

• Salary of $21/h
• Reimbursed mileage at $0.70/km
• Daytime hours, Monday to Friday
• No evenings or weekends

The majority of our clients are respectful and grateful. However, home care also means entering the real daily life of people living with frailty, cognitive impairments, dementia, anxiety, isolation, or other mental health issues.

Some homes may also be more cluttered or require more adaptation. Therefore, we seek calm, professional individuals capable of making sound judgments.

You will never be alone in a concerning situation: our team is there to support and intervene if needed.

A human, but also physically demanding job

The position requires good physical capacity: using a vacuum cleaner, washing floors, climbing stairs, bending, standing, and performing repetitive movements.

Depending on the service, you may also move or transport light to moderate loads, such as a laundry basket, a bucket, a bag, or cleaning supplies.

Your safety is a priority

Any situation of discomfort, intimidation, or inappropriate behavior must be reported immediately to the office.

No employee should tolerate a situation where they do not feel safe.

Your main tasks: Depending on the chosen role or assignment:

• Light housekeeping
• Deep cleaning or more thorough housekeeping
• Laundry, if needed
• Grocery shopping assistance, if needed
• Preparation of simple meals, if needed
• Following instructions, schedules, and procedures
• Communicating with the office when a particular situation arises
• Desired profile:
• We seek a person who:
• Enjoys interacting with elderly or vulnerable individuals
• Is reliable, punctual, and respectful
• Has good autonomy
• Has a customer service mindset
• Enjoys active and physical work
• Is able to follow instructions
• Is available for a minimum of 15 hours per week
• Has a valid driver's license and a vehicle
• Resides in the Châteauguay, Beauharnois, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Haut-Saint-Laurent area or nearby

Experience in housekeeping, deep cleaning, home care, or working with vulnerable clients is an asset, but we can train the right person.
