Meat Department Assistant Manager

Meat Department Assistant Manager: Messier Group is a family-owned business specializing in food retail and dedicated to its customers since 1953. Our Metro grocery stores are looking for a Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our great team.

Reporting to the Meat Department Manager, the Assistant Manager supports the manager in overseeing all operations related to the department's management, purchases, inventory management, product merchandising, and personnel supervision.

They must also oversee customer service and business lending for the department.

Responsibilities

• Support the manager in store operations (purchasing, stock management, cost management, etc.) and step in as needed;
• Ensure the staff provides exceptional customer service;
• Advise and serve customers;
• Participate in personnel management (hiring, training, evaluation, supervision, work schedules);
• Collaborate on purchases, stock management, and equipment management;
• Ensure staff adhere to product merchandising, quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards;
• Ensure staff follow health and safety standards.

Experience

• At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role;
• Experience in management is an asset.
