Steel Structure Assembler

Full-time permanent position, starting salary of $27.50/hour (based on experience), Friday PM off, full collective benefits (telemedicine and dental options)

Your Daily Role

• Assemble and position components for welding according to plans and specifications
• Weld pieces using semi-automatic equipment (spot and flat position welds)
• Make cuts using oxy-fuel cutting
• Shape pieces using other processes
• Inspect the quality of welds and assemblies to detect any defects
• Prepare pieces for welding using tools such as angle grinders
• Operate the overhead crane and hoist to handle pieces
• Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness of the work environment

What We're Looking For

• DEP in welding-assembly or equivalent experience
• Experience in steel welding (ideally in structures)
• Basic knowledge of reading plans and understanding welding symbols
• 2 years of assembly experience (in steel structures is a major asset)
• Comfort with electrical and manual tools
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, and concern for quality
• Autonomy and reliability
• Proficiency in metric and imperial units
