Ô St-François Residence, a care and living community for seniors, is seeking a Recreation Technician/Recreation Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Under the direction of the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic and entertaining living environment for residents, both independent and with reduced independence, by offering a diverse calendar of activities. This person will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and leading cultural, social, artistic, and sports activities for all residents, both in the independent side of the residence and in the care unit.

The successful candidate will interact with all staff members, families, and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the residence's activity calendars and special events;
  • Disseminate communications on internal and external networks;
  • Plan, organize, implement, lead, or supervise leisure activities;
  • Lead activities and ensure resident participation, including the care unit;
  • Promote residence activities to residents;
  • Organize themed meals, conferences on various topics, courses or training, and external outings;
  • Ensure the decoration of the premises for special events;
  • Coordinate internal communications between departments related to leisure activities;
  • Ensure the supply of the service and the proper management of equipment and resources;
  • Ensure proper management of the budget;
  • Coordinate and support the existing volunteer team and encourage volunteer involvement in the residence;
  • Ensure daily presence and activities in the care unit;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

EDUCATION

Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in leisure intervention techniques or other relevant training.

EXPERIENCE

3 years of relevant experience working with seniors in a residence.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
