Your Role:

The Software and Platform Architecture team is looking for a creative, skilled, and talented individual with extensive expertise in the governance and implementation of AI solutions to fill the position of AI Architect in our Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal headquarters.

Reporting to the Software Architecture and Contract Management Director, you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and driving the evolution and governance of AI architecture.

You will join an already established team of architects whose work is focused on governance and best practices in software and cloud platform architecture.

Within the Architecture team, you will stand out by bridging cutting-edge AI technologies with concrete operational needs. You will help design, build, and oversee the integration of scalable AI systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI processes, while ensuring security, compliance, and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Your Contribution:

Main Tasks

  • Evaluate AI frameworks, platforms, and tools (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to recommend the best option between in-house development and purchasing solutions.
  • Guide the selection of foundation models based on CBC/Radio-Canada's use cases and infrastructure capabilities.
  • Lead AI application architecture, leveraging large language models, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
  • Develop architecture roadmaps for AI deployment initiatives, including generative AI, large language models, and agentic AI processes.
  • Drive the integration of scalable AI systems, including machine learning pipelines and agentic AI processes, while ensuring security, compliance, and alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and evaluate their value to the company.
  • Establish architectural standards related to model performance, traceability, data tracing, and compliance with personal information protection.
  • Understand operational needs and identify AI use cases.
  • Integrate AI solutions into the company's applications.
  • Write requests, evaluate results, and design end-to-end automated agentic AI processes.
  • Continuously test and refine models to ensure their reliability, scalability, and optimal performance in production environments.
  • Support continuous monitoring and governance of AI solutions after deployment.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to define desired outcomes, success metrics, and value vectors for AI projects.
  • Collaborate with ethics and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives meet regulatory requirements and CBC/Radio-Canada's governance standards.

  • Your Profile:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in software architecture, cloud architecture, data engineering, or AI solutions.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in designing AI or machine learning solutions for the enterprise.
  • Experience in delivering cloud-native AI solutions.
  • Certifications from vendors, such as Microsoft Certified: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect or equivalent AWS/GCP certifications - a plus.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and deploying AI applications using languages like Python or R.
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience with data management systems and MLOps tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Git, model registries).
  • Excellent ability to interact with stakeholders, technical leadership, and ability to drive AI adoption internally.

  • Experience in the media or broadcasting industry, or in technologies associated with content distribution.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
