Warehouse Worker / Forklift Handler

Job Description for Warehouse Worker: Receiving

• Operate forklifts safely, efficiently, and productively.
• Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate locations using a forklift.
• Ensure efficient loading and unloading performance.
• Prepare products for shipping.
• Ensure that the right number and product are shipped.
• Ensure that pallets are well wrapped according to company standards for our customers.
• Confirm truck arrivals and departures.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the truck.
• Unload.
• Check delivery notes.
• Proceed to the reception.
• Clean containers if necessary.
• Un-pile if necessary according to standards.
• Locate pallets in the warehouse.
• Segregate non-conforming material in the appropriate area.
• Receive the packages (FEDEX, PURO, ETC ...) and place them on the pallet for this purpose.
• Receive shipments from Third Parties.
• Shipping:
• Issue and locate finished products to be shipped at shipping docks.
• Prepare shipments according to the picking list provided by the logistics department.
• Check the cleanliness of the truck.
• Load trucks and hand over documents to drivers.
• Ensure that a safety seal is affixed to the trailer when necessary.
• Prepare and label products to be shipped by Purolator, Fedex ....
• Packaging:
• Inspect the forklift and complete the daily forklift inspection sheet.
• Wrap the pallets and locate them in the warehouse.
• Related tasks:
• Apply established safety rules.
• Training of new employees and contractors.
• Maintain the warehouse: pallet storage, order-tidy-cleanliness.
• Carry out the inventory (cycle count).
• Manage racking space.
• Basic Requirements
• Forklift driver's license. (Sitting Propane, Standing Electric, Diesel Over 20,000 Lb)
• Be bilingual.
• Know how to interpret purchase orders and receipt forms.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg, stand for long periods of time, and work in a variety of temperatures.
• *Able to pass a criminal background check*
• Professional experience:
• *Minimum 3 years in a similar position with experience on a counterbalance forklift and a Raymond type forklift. Knowledge of warehousing, shipping, and receiving.*
• Knowledge of S.I.M.D.U.T.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods for road shipments is an asset.
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Salary: Starting at $21.00 per hour
