Under the responsibility of the Operations Director, the Inventory Control Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy through a robust cycle counting process, continuous user training, and transaction audits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory, both physically and systemically, by controlling, validating, and tracking inventory movements associated with all processes.
  • Investigate inventory issues and report them to the higher level, and strive to continuously refine procedures and processes to improve quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance with the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including, but not limited to, the item database, item tracking, location maintenance, replenishment, and cycle counts.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and perform planned counts, near-zero counts, and physical counts in accordance with internal policies and client requirements.
  • Examine inventory discrepancies, adjust inventory records if necessary, determine the root cause, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Coordinate the control of damaged and defective products and customer claims, ensuring that any inventory modifications are accounted for and handled correctly, in accordance with client expectations.
  • Provide feedback and, if necessary, reports to management regarding operational accuracy from the results of incoming and outgoing audits, inventories, and user system errors.
  • Communicate with management and clients about inventory issues, including the existence, cause, and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure communication and suggest improvements in inventory and processes.
  • Work closely with the operations team to control the flow and placement of inventory in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Report on inventory control activity and performance results as defined by management and service level agreements with clients.
  • Create and maintain inventory control procedures.
  • Assist, if necessary, in training team members on standardized operational procedures.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • At least 2 years of practical experience in inventory control using a Warehouse Management System, preferably Red Prairie (RP).
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • A post-secondary diploma in logistics management is an asset.
