Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

We are currently looking for a candidate to join our team as a mechanic and fleet manager.

The ideal candidate must be able to coordinate mechanical work according to the established schedule, validate mechanical issues, and find quick solutions to help drivers and ensure that our external suppliers provide a service that meets the company's standards and requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and minor repairs on a fleet of trucks and trailers
• Keep a detailed record of daily repairs
• Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance on trucks
• Analyze equipment problems to make possible corrections and necessary major repairs by a repair company
• Make roadside service calls when necessary
• Manage external suppliers
• Keep all fleet documents up to date
• Any other tasks related to the position

Job requirements

• Have a good team spirit, be autonomous, resourceful, and careful
• Demonstrate good time management to meet maintenance scheduling
• Possess a DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics (an asset)
• Possess the certification to perform PEPs
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license
• Good knowledge of the transportation industry
• Hours: Monday to Friday starting at 5:00 AM
• Weekly salary by direct deposit
