• Your role in our team

The agricultural technician plays a crucial role in the implementation of site supervision mandates for construction work carried out within agricultural land projects.

As a true resource person on the ground, you will act as the first point of contact with clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring the quality, compliance, and efficiency of interventions.

In a context of varied and dynamic mandates, the agricultural technician actively contributes to environmental and agronomic site surveillance, evaluations and characterizations, post-construction follow-up, and technical documentation production, while closely collaborating with the project manager.

This key role also includes planning and supervising fieldwork, providing technical support to teams, and rigorously applying health and safety practices at work.

On-site, you will ensure the protection of agricultural soils while ensuring compliance with the requirements derived from agricultural and environmental permits and commitments associated with the projects.

Responsibilities related to the position

• Under the supervision of the agronomist, carry out agronomic surveillance/supervision on construction sites located in agricultural environments;
• Under the supervision of the project manager, carry out environmental surveillance of construction sites;
• Document the progress of work and produce daily site reports or tracking tables;
• Participate in inspections before, during, and after construction;
• Respect and ensure the chain of communication with the project manager, contractors, and client representatives;
• In support of the project manager, identify non-compliances and recommend appropriate corrective measures;
• Promote and apply health and safety standards on sites.

Requirements and education

• DEC or AEC in agricultural technology or equivalent training;
• Experience working on construction sites or in a civil engineering environment;
• Valid ASP Construction card or willingness to obtain one;
• Valid driver's license;
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions;
• Good communication skills with different stakeholders;
• Sense of organization, autonomy, and rigor.

Assets

• Knowledge of the Quebec agricultural environment and issues related to the protection of agricultural soils;
• Experience in site surveillance;
• Experience working on projects subject to CPTAQ or ministerial permits;
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards applicable in Quebec.

• Mobility and flexibility

Since our projects are spread across Quebec, the candidate must be willing to travel to different sites according to the needs of the mandates.

We favor a flexible work organization that may include alternating between local projects and projects requiring more significant travel. As an example, some periods may include a week on sites near the home followed by a week on projects located elsewhere in Quebec.
