Biomedical Engineering Technician - Replacement

The Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center is the largest mother-child hospital in Canada and one of the four most important pediatric centers in America. Your Challenges

The biomedical engineering team is currently looking for two Biomedical Engineering Technicians (GBM).

Your role will be to ensure the proper functioning of specialized medical equipment in the facility, both in terms of maintenance, verification, and repair. You will operate within a highly qualified and dedicated team.

Do you want to join our team? We have two temporary replacements for you, with an estimated duration of one year. Here's what your daily routine might look like:

• Perform verification and repair of specialized medical equipment (SME) and ensure their proper functioning before use
• Conduct preventive maintenance, electrical safety tests, and calibration of SME to ensure they are safe, reliable, and compliant with current standards, codes, and specifications
• Ensure the integration and adaptation of all medical systems in their specific environment
• Recommend and implement necessary modifications to SME
• Keep your knowledge up-to-date in the field of technology related to equipment by participating in the institution's various training programs
• Contribute to the training of end-users
• Supervise the mentoring and training of biomedical technology interns
• Assist and collaborate with professionals in the field of technological development
• Participate and provide assistance in the center's various research projects
• Manage and follow up on contractual clauses related to equipment acquisition (e.g., warranty)
• Conduct investigations related to risk management: medical alerts, incident and accident reports
• Collaborate with service managers in the evaluation of material obsolescence and pre-purchase evaluations of medical systems and equipment
• Participate in the management of equipment using our computer-assisted maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Document service interventions that are recorded in the equipment's file (corrective and preventive)
• Be vigilant of the inventory of parts and spare materials
• Ensure the inventory of the SME fleet under your responsibility (material entry and exit)
• Perform other tasks related to the position

Your Qualifications

• DEC in electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or equivalent
• Certificate in biomedical technologies is an asset
• Completed internship following your studies
• Experience in a hospital setting is an asset
• Additional computer knowledge is an asset
