What is the job opportunity about?
As a member of RBC Phillips, Hager & North Services - Investment Advisory, the Portfolio Manager Assistant collaborates with experienced Portfolio Managers to develop customized investment strategies for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and charitable organizations. This long-term support role involves assisting Portfolio Managers in establishing a strategy, managing client portfolios, and regularly reviewing them.
What will your tasks be?
- Provide support to the Portfolio Manager in managing client portfolios
- Participate in developing investment strategies, models, proposals, and action plans for current and potential clients
- Implement action plans and proactively manage client portfolios to achieve or exceed performance goals
- Monitor and rebalance client portfolios to ensure they are managed according to the investment policy statement and portfolio risk management strategies and policies
- Develop, document, and maintain each client's profile, establishing steps to deepen and strengthen the client relationship
- Assist with client meetings as needed, including annual reviews and meetings with potential clients
- Participate in investment strategy and analysis presentations by analysts
- Review risk management reports and follow up on them
- Proactively identify and address portfolio management issues for clients and recommend solutions to Portfolio Managers to resolve them
- What do you need to succeed?
Requirements
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
- University degree (preferably in business, finance, or economics)
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve a client base and work with colleagues and partners who are both French- and English-speaking across Canada
- Solid practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel
Assets
- Graduate degree (preferably in business or finance)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute
