Residence Calla – Vitæ Group Saint-Sacrement Quarter, Quebec Residence Calla is looking for a cook or a cook to join its food service team.

Our residence welcomes elderly people living with physical or cognitive autonomy loss. For our residents, meals represent much more than an essential need: they are also a source of pleasure, comfort, and socialization. We are looking for a reliable, autonomous, and organized person who wishes to contribute to the well-being of our residents by offering them delicious and quality meals.

Work Schedule

• Permanent part-time position;
• One weekend out of two, Saturday and Sunday, from 8 am to 5:30 pm; Every Tuesday, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm;
• Possibility to work additional hours during holidays, public holidays, or to cover replacement needs.

Salary

• From 24.97 $ to 29.84 $ per hour, according to the current wage scale.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to the established menus and recipes;
• Perform the necessary setup for dinner and supper;
• Respect portions, preparation methods, and service times;
• Ensure the quality, presentation, and temperature of the food;
• Take into account the particular needs of the residents, including adapted textures and dietary restrictions;
• Participate in the service and distribution of meals;
• Collaborate with the head cook and other team members;
• Maintain work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas clean and safe;
• Respect food hygiene, sanitation, and storage standards;
• Perform product rotation and contribute to reducing food waste;
• Participate in the continuous improvement of meal and service quality;
• Perform any other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the kitchen.

• A MAPAQ food hygiene and sanitation training certificate and experience in elderly residences are assets.
