Senior Project Manager – AI-Assisted Application Modernization

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead a strategic initiative to modernize critical applications used in a manufacturing environment.

The mandate aims to migrate and modernize legacy systems that have become obsolete to modern cloud-based web platforms, while ensuring operational continuity, maintaining essential business capabilities, SAP integrations, and compliance with security requirements.

The project will be carried out using an Agile methodology and will incorporate an innovative approach to AI-assisted software development, in collaboration with an external partner specializing in this area.

The person sought will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery, from initial planning to deployment, stabilization, and transition to operations. They will act as the primary point of coordination between business teams, IT, SAP, security, operational managers, and the external development partner.

Main Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, administration, or related field
• More than 8 years of experience in managing software development or complex application modernization projects
• Significant experience in delivering enterprise-scale Agile projects
• Experience in managing vendors, consulting firms, or systems integrators
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary business and technical teams
• Experience in managing budgets, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholders
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of Cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD environments
• Knowledge of API integrations
• Understanding of AI-assisted software development practices
• Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills
• Ability to interact with technical, business, and executive stakeholders

Assets

• Experience with SAP or integrated ERP environments
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development practices or tools
• PMP certification
• CSM certification
• PMI-ACP certification
• SAFe certification

Objectives and Deliverables

• Lead the end-to-end modernization of critical applications
• Migrate legacy systems to modern cloud-based web platforms
• Maintain essential business capabilities and ensure operational continuity during the transformation
• Ensure integration of new solutions with SAP and the existing technological ecosystem
• Establish and maintain effective project governance
• Ensure compliance with scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives
• Oversee the delivery in collaboration with the external partner
• Support the use of an AI-assisted software development approach
• Ensure deployment preparation, stabilization, and transition to operations

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the modernization project
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements
• Establish governance structures, tracking mechanisms, and decision-making processes
• Facilitate executive, delivery, and project team meetings
• Produce progress reports and presentations for senior management
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests
• Coordinate sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery planning
• Track team velocity, scope progress, and resource allocation
• Coordinate development, architecture, QA, DevOps, security, SAP, data migration, and integration teams
• Act as the primary liaison with the external software development partner
• Monitor vendor performance, deliverable quality, and contractual commitments
• Facilitate problem resolution and manage escalations
• Mobilize business, IT, and operational user teams
• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Lead communication and change management activities
• Coordinate training and knowledge transfer
• Plan for production rollout, cutover, and stabilization period
• Ensure transition to support and operations teams
