About the Role
Within the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, the analyst will contribute to the updating, analysis, and continuous improvement of Boralex's corporate financial model.
The person will work with the FP&A teams and business units to coordinate financial assumptions, consolidate projections, and support value creation analyses by asset, region, technology, or business segment.
The position is designed for a profile that already has strong foundations in Excel and financial modeling and wishes to accelerate their development in a strategic corporate environment.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Corporate Financial Modeling — update the corporate financial model, integrate operational and financial assumptions, and document significant changes.
- Quality and Robustness Control — perform validations, reconciliations, consistency tests, and variance analyses to ensure the reliability of data and calculations.
- Analysis and Valuation — prepare sensitivity analyses, scenarios, key indicators, and valuation analyses to highlight the main value drivers.
- Collaboration with Business Units — coordinate the collection of assumptions, clarify discrepancies, and support the continuous improvement of financial information quality.
- Financial Communication — prepare and present financial analyses in a clear, concise, and structured manner, adapting messages to different audiences, including shareholders (Brookfield and La Caisse), the financial leadership, and the FP&A teams.
- Continuous Improvement — contribute to simplifying files, standardizing controls, improving traceability, and strengthening best practices in modeling.
- Desired Profile
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, financial engineering, or related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial modeling, corporate evaluation, corporate finance, or transactional advisory services.
- Experience as an investment banker, corporate finance advisor, or private equity is ideal.
- Excellent Excel skills and a strong interest in detailed and structured financial models.
- Good understanding of financial statements, discounted cash flows, financial indicators, and sensitivity analyses.
- Rigor, analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to verify one's own work.
- Ability to synthesize and explain complex financial analyses in a simple, structured, and audience-adapted manner.
- Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, to collaborate with business units and prepare corporate deliverables.
- Assets
- Experience with DCF models, asset valuation, debt, or portfolio models.
- Exposure to the renewable energy, infrastructure, or transactional advisory services sectors.
- CFA, CPA, or EEE/CBV designation.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, VBA, or Python as a tool for automation and control.
