The Technician-Repairer is responsible for maximizing productivity within the repair operations service, while ensuring fast and high-quality repairs of Hilti tools, and enhancing the added-value image associated with owning Hilti tools. They are expected to offer first-class tool repair service to support the value proposition of the tool service. They also contribute to the company's overall financial success through cost control of sold products (CPV), process improvement, and cost management throughout the repair process.

Your responsibilities

• Serve as a functional leader and expert in repairs for one to two groups of tools (tool families).
• Maintain and improve technical knowledge and skills by continuously developing professionally through online repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
• Perform high-quality Hilti product repairs by accurately diagnosing problem sources and applying recommended corrective measures, using appropriate tools and systems.
• Have a thorough understanding and full respect for repair standards, ensuring that repair technicians in the designated tool group use the tool service platform and adhere to all standards.
• Implement final functional and safety tests after each repair to ensure customer safety.
• Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory by accurately selecting spare parts and identifying and increasing inadequate safety stock levels through continuous inventory tracking.
• Communicate data and information to Hilti Quality and Product Managers, which will be used to identify potential improvements in overall tool quality and safety.
• Keep assigned workspaces, tools, and equipment in good order to enable the incumbent to complete work in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
• Adopt practices that involve leading by example and promoting a cohesive environment.

Your qualifications for this position

• Hold a high school diploma or have passed a GED evaluation or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in mechanical or electrical repairs.
• Specific work experience in two (2) to three (3) Hilti tool groups (storage locations) with expertise in one tool group.
• Experience using Windows applications, preferably.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Great attention to detail and ability to analyze data; ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
• Focus on customer service and ability to work within a team.

Challenging working conditions

• Work in a workshop exposed to heat, cold, dust, and other particles.

Physical requirements

• The employee must be able to lift products up to 70 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day while performing tool repairs at the workstation.
• Must be able to use manual tools and equipment to assemble and disassemble electrical tools.

Required safety equipment

• The employee agrees to comply with all Hilti safety rules, the Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and general contractors.
• Mandatory use of safety glasses and safety shoes.
