Your contribution!

Reporting to the Chief - Performance Analysis, you will be responsible for tracking the performance of several operational wind farms. The analyst documents and investigates the causes of underperformance and supports operations and engineering in the development of solutions. The development of specific data acquisition and processing systems for the covered sites is also part of the tasks to which the analyst participates.

Your daily tasks!

  • Analyze the overall performance of operating wind farms, track operations and farm availability, investigate causes of underperformance, and develop solutions;
  • Participate in the writing of monthly operational reports;
  • Complete ad-hoc performance analyses as requested by Operations;
  • Regularly consult with operations teams to understand and define downtimes and underperformances;
  • Set up, evolve, and maintain data acquisition and storage solutions from Data Historian or SCADA systems to visualize and analyze relevant data for understanding the mechanical issues identified by the operations team;
  • Develop a fine understanding of these issues by questioning available technicians and specialists and traveling to the site when necessary and possible;
  • Document the observations collected or made on site and illustrate the phenomena with the collected data, all compiled in complete technical reports and presentations to operations and management teams;
  • Develop the ability to detect underperformances and prevent breakdowns by exploiting the collected data and the Machine Learning algorithms already used within the performance team;
  • Participate in the development of performance analysis and reporting tools;
  • Support the operations teams of the farms and develop tools to facilitate their tasks;
  • Participate in the due diligence review process during asset acquisitions (review of production and availability data);
  • Support the project development teams (contract review, analyses);
  • Manage consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers for operational projects;
  • Any other related task.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position or a combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of data analysis programming languages such as Matlab or Python;
  • Knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau is an asset;
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of communication systems and SCADA is an asset;
  • Strong synthesis and solid writing skills;
  • Ability to understand, discern, and analyze the essential issues of the projects under study according to the mandate and the allocated time;
  • Organized, proactive, rigorous, and analytical person;
  • Autonomous and good team spirit and collaboration;
  • Available for occasional travel mainly in North America;
  • Bilingual (French and English) both orally and in writing to ensure regular collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec.
