Confab is currently looking for a Team Lead Multipurpose Operator for VMS Manufacturing.

The multipurpose team lead operator in production is responsible for coordinating the production team and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all production activities to manufacture high-quality products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate breaks in a staggered manner for all production employees;
  • Coordinate production department activities;
  • Coordinate, with the material handler, ingredient container changes during production;
  • Advise the Production Supervisor and mechanic regarding equipment maintenance;
  • Coordinate cleaning and sanitation operations according to the production sequence and in accordance with specific Quality Instructions and Procedures. Verify the proper recording of cleaning and sanitation activities;
  • Turn on production equipment, monitor drying chambers, etc.;
  • Calibrate scales, pH meters, and refractometers, then record the results;
  • Ensure and record the setup and release of the line before starting production operations;
  • Ensure that production quality meets work order specifications.
  • Communicate any anomalies to the Quality Control department;
  • Stop the line in case of a critical equipment malfunction;
  • At the end of each shift, conduct a floor tour to ensure that production equipment is turned off and drying chambers are at the correct temperature;
  • Use the forklift and pallet jacks safely.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Replace production and sanitation operators when required;
  • Examine, complete, and sign work orders for all production and present them to the inventory manager and quality department;
  • Complete all administrative documents, production reports, cleaning reports, etc., correctly and completely.
  • Human Leadership Responsibilities
  • Orient team members' tasks;
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees;
  • Supervise/update daily production records to ensure their accuracy, in accordance with SCN BestCo's standardized operating procedures;
  • Listen to team members' feedback and resolve/report any issues or conflicts;
  • Ensure that safety and quality standards are applied and respected.
  • Required Education and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machines;
  • Practical knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office; mandatory;
  • Leadership aptitude;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues;
  • Manual dexterity required to operate machines.
  • Desired Education Level and Experience:
  • Relevant experience in a BPF environment.
