As a Project Estimator within Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Excavation business unit. You will support the growth of new and ongoing projects by challenging industry standards with your expertise and knowledge of the trade. You will work on large-scale projects ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars, in a variety of expertise fields, including sewers and water systems, wind farms, dams, and roadways, as well as other projects that can be carried out in synergy with the different business units of the organization. By working closely with our proposal team and various client groups, you will actively contribute to winning competitive bids and the overall success of projects.

What you will do

  • Actively contribute to the bidding process.
  • Identify project-specific prices for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Accurately interpret technical specifications, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Conduct thorough quantitative evaluations to ensure the accuracy of contractual specifications and pricing.
  • Focus on the client's pricing requirements to ensure project feasibility.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals.
  • Explore innovative solutions and opportunities within the project parameters.
  • This position is for you if you have
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in estimation within the construction sector.
  • A university, college, or construction management/engineering diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in project coordination and collaboration with teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with project and industry stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of the bidding process.
  • Strong research skills to identify and analyze project-specific expenses.
  • Expertise in quantity calculations to ensure the accuracy of contractual specifications and pricing.
  • Good computer skills, including estimation software.
