Your responsibilities as a Grocery Store Manager
- Plan and coordinate department activities to achieve sales and profitability goals set by the director, while respecting the applicable collective agreement.
- Participate in the development of action plans.
- Place orders and make purchases for the department.
- Verify the conformity of invoices with delivery notes and ensure receipt of returns from suppliers and allocations with sales associates.
- Regularly analyze the tracking of goods reception procedures regarding internal security.
- Ensure that the store is ready to receive customers regarding the quantity of merchandise, product labeling, and rotation of perishable goods.
- Ensure that product labeling complies with store standards, the chief's price list, and the optical scanner price, and that price cards comply with the circular.
- Ensure the rotation of products based on expiration dates. Ensure the department's business readiness (quality, quantity, freshness, cleanliness).
- Plan, one week in advance, on a planogram, the market launch of products.
- Schedule employee work hours. Supervise the work of the night coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with company policies (receiving, security, etc.) and health, hygiene, safety, and workplace standards.
- Oversee hiring, welcoming, training, and evaluating employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience as a grocery clerk, including 2 years as an assistant store manager
