Join Tornatech's development team as an Electronic R&D Engineer. You will play a key role in the design, evolution, maintenance, and support of our electronic platforms. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external consultants, and suppliers to develop the next generations of control platforms and support their mass production.

  • Main responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Development Service, the Electronic R&D Engineer will be responsible for hardware mandates related to Tornatech's control platforms. The selected person will take on electronic development projects, from ideation to certification and market launch.

  • Act as a responsible professional for electronic mandates (hardware) related to Tornatech's control platforms;
  • Determine the necessary material requirements, write specifications, and ensure their proper implementation with subcontractors;
  • Manage electronic platform development projects, from ideation to certification and market launch;
  • Perform validation tests, technical analyses, and procedures necessary for product certification;
  • Diagnose technical issues, find root causes, and propose robust solutions;
  • Ensure proactive tracking of the electronic lifecycle, including component obsolescence and the use of specialized tools like Silicon Expert;
  • Coordinate mandates entrusted to external consultants, including communication, technical follow-up, and priority management;
  • Collaborate with suppliers who manufacture our electronics to support mass production, handle component replacement requests, and address test equipment issues;
  • Analyze opportunities for improving our electronic manufacturing and contribute to the continuous improvement of products and processes;
  • Provide advanced technical support to product managers, after-sales service, production engineering, and other departments;
  • Write internal technical documentation for control platforms;
  • Participate in software and hardware development, validation, and maintenance of test benches for unit production;
  • Design and execute electronic validation test plans, from first prototypes to component replacement;
  • Work closely with product managers, industrial designers, engineering teams, and test technicians;
  • Perform any other tasks that may be required by the Head of Development Service.

Desired profile

  • Hold a degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent field;
  • Possess strong knowledge of electronics and embedded systems;
  • Have experience in designing, developing, or maintaining electronic platforms, ideally in a manufacturing environment;
  • Possess good project management, priority management, and communication skills;
  • Be capable of working with a high level of autonomy and minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrate excellent responsibility, judgment, and professionalism;
  • Be skilled in technical problem-solving and root cause analysis;
  • Possess experience with testing, validation, certification, or electronic test benches;
  • Be organized, reliable, and meticulous, while being able to meet deadlines;
  • Show leadership, initiative, and determination;
  • Be comfortable collaborating with consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams;
  • Have excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Be comfortable with programming, particularly in Python;
  • Possess experience with certified products or in an environment where reliability and safety are essential;
  • Have experience in managing electronic component obsolescence;
  • Knowledge of an electronic component management tool, such as SiliconExpert, is an asset;
  • Proficiency with development tools such as Git, Visual Studio, and PyCharm is also an asset;
