Permanent Position - Montreal Office – Hybrid
We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support the Paralegals in the Corporate Services department, primarily in the area of corporate and commercial law at our Montreal office. By joining Fasken, you will collaborate with the paralegals in preparing the required corporate documentation for commercial and tax transactions of companies, as well as in maintaining the books of companies.
The challenges we offer you
- You will organize and follow up on tasks with the paralegals responsible for maintaining the books of companies for our clients;
- You will assist the paralegals and collaborate on the preparation and management of documents for transactions and updates of books of companies;
- You will enter data into our GlobalAct software, update corporate registers, and prepare the forms and certificates of shares generated in GlobalAct from the closing schedules and resolutions;
- You will conduct research in various databases, prepare and file various declarations, reports, opinions, bylaws, and obtain documents and information from the authorities (Registrar of Companies (Quebec), Corporations Canada, eCore, ARC, RQ, etc.);
- You will follow up on out-of-province registrations and coordinate, prepare, and file the required forms in each Canadian province and territory;
- You will make deposits with government authorities and manage the documentation following the closure of transactions.

About you
- You have a legal secretary training and relevant experience in transactional corporate law;
- You are fluent in both French and English, both orally and in writing. Bilingualism is essential, as you will regularly collaborate with colleagues located in different offices across Canada;
- You are comfortable navigating various technological tools, such as the Microsoft Office Suite and GlobalAct (an asset);
- You have excellent analytical skills and a strong sense of responsibility;
- You have outstanding organizational skills that allow you to manage priorities and adapt to a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines;
- You demonstrate a high level of professionalism, diligence, autonomy, and discretion. In doing so, you enjoy learning and continuously developing;
- You have good interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with your colleagues;
- You have a concern for providing excellent customer service.
