Summary

Under the supervision of the Methods Manager, the incumbent of this position is responsible for analyzing, designing, optimizing, and standardizing production processes to improve the efficiency, quality, and safety of manufacturing operations. He acts as an expert in work organization, continuous improvement, and the implementation of best industrial practices, in collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams. Occasionally or on request, he performs other related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and production capacity.
• Conduct capacity analyses and balance assembly lines.
• Define, measure, and keep up-to-date standard operation times for production operations.
• Identify bottlenecks, performance losses, and various forms of waste (Muda), and propose sustainable solutions.
• Design, optimize, and maintain production layouts, material flows, logistics zones, and warehouses.
• Participate in the industrialization and launch of new products.
• Lead medium and large-scale continuous improvement projects involving multiple departments.
• Design and implement solutions to improve manufacturing flows, internal logistics, and workplace ergonomics.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and deploy the main continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED, Standard Work, Poka-Yoke, Kanban, visual management, etc.).
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and digital solutions to support the transformation towards a Smart Factory 4.0.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, and R&D teams to ensure project success.
• Be on-site to validate implemented solutions and support teams in change.
• Academic Education and Professional Experience
• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
• Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (asset).
• Significant experience in an industrial engineering or continuous improvement role in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in managing process improvement and manufacturing optimization projects.

Skills

• Bilingualism (French and English).
• Excellent mastery of Lean Manufacturing and its main tools: 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, SMED, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, visual management, problem-solving (A3, PDCA, 5 Why).
• Solid knowledge in line balancing and capacity optimization.
• Mastery of bottleneck analysis and waste reduction techniques.
• Excellent knowledge of standard time determination and management methods (time study, MTM, MOST, or equivalent).
• Experience in designing and optimizing factory layouts, material flows, and warehouse organization.
• Good understanding of internal logistics processes and manufacturing supply chains.
• Ability to analyze production data and establish performance indicators (KPI).
• Good mastery of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
• Good knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of emerging manufacturing technologies (MES, IoT, automation, collaborative robotics, digital systems, Power BI, etc.) to contribute to the evolution towards a Smart Factory 4.0.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Technical leadership and ability to influence without hierarchical authority.
