YOUR NEXT CHALLENGES:

In collaboration with the General Supervisor and/or the Deputy General Supervisor - Mine, you will plan, coordinate, and supervise activities related to underground mine operations. You will embody the organization's values with vigor, promote teamwork, and encourage the use of new technologies. Ultimately, you will ensure the best possible tracking of operations.

You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.

More specifically, you will need to

  • Supervise sectoral teams (development, production, or extraction) or teams combining all these sectors;
  • Apply the supervision formula with conviction and promote the good use of the work card by your team members at all times;
  • Record progress in the software provided for this purpose;
  • Report and communicate progress and the status to the previous shift and your immediate supervisor;
  • Ensure the transfer of information within your team and ensure the best possible communication at all times;
  • Test work methods and practices to maximize profitability and operation safety;
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of underground work procedures;
  • Lead and participate in meetings with employees (health and safety, production, or others);
  • Maintain and nurture healthy relationships within your team and with other departments;
  • Report any situation affecting the safety and profitability of operations to the General Supervisor - Mine or his deputy, and share any improvement suggestions;
  • Be able to identify the strengths and areas for improvement of your team members and promote their development;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the Supervisor - Mine position.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR YOUR SUCCESS

  • Hold a professional studies diploma (DEP) in mineral extraction or a college diploma (DEC) in mineral technology or equivalent training/experience in a related field;
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in underground mining operations and relevant supervision experience in the last year;
  • Have relevant experience in a mechanized underground mine;
  • Hold a valid general explosives permit (mandatory);
  • Hold the miner worker modular training (1-2-3-4-5-7) (mandatory);
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Demonstrate ease with computer tools;
  • Bilingualism (French and English) (asset);
  • Demonstrate oral and written communication skills;
  • Show rigor and precision in work;
  • Have ease in working in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and autonomy;
  • Manage stress and deadlines;
  • Be open to the automation of technologies.
