In the course of their duties, the person will evolve in a hybrid role and collaborate closely with the professionals of the Debt Capital Markets team. This collaboration will allow them to support economic and market analyses necessary for financing and issuance activities on the capital markets. The role of the analyst is to leverage their research skills, analytical thinking, and data management expertise to support the Chief Economist and contribute to a wide range of activities aimed at achieving the objectives of Banque Laurentienne du Canada (BLC).

Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the economic climate and financial markets for BLC's activities.
  • Participate in in-depth research and develop relevant topics for the fixed-income securities market.
  • Contribute to the preparation of fixed-income focused reports.
  • Assist in the development of scenarios and economic forecasts related to BLC's strategic, regulatory, and operational activities.
  • Actively participate in the design of presentations and economic data management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics and/or finance
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Completed or ongoing Master's degree: an asset
  • Strong knowledge of macroeconomics
  • Strong knowledge of fixed-income securities markets
  • CFA designation: an asset
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Proficiency in French and English*, both spoken and written
  • Ability to manage accelerated projects with a results-oriented approach
  • Professional proficiency in French and English is required as the position requires frequent written and oral communications on complex issues with internal and external parties in both languages.
