In this role as a Mechanic within Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of drill rigs on construction sites. Working on large-scale construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will have the opportunity to ensure the safety, productivity, and durability of drilling operations.

What You Will Do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on drill rigs;
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures;
  • Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical plans, and technical manuals;
  • Replace faulty parts and make necessary adjustments;
  • Collaborate with operators and operations manager to optimize equipment performance;
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning while adhering to manufacturer's compliance and requirements;
  • Maintain an inventory of drill rig spare parts and consumables;
  • Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection;
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance tasks;
  • Perform periodic maintenance operations such as oil changes, lubrication, and tuning;
  • Follow training related to new technologies.
  • This Position is for You If You Have
  • A valid CCQ Competency Certificate for Heavy Machinery Mechanic;
  • A DEP in Construction Equipment Mechanics;
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience;
  • A valid driver's license;
  • Familiarity with Epiroc (Atlas Copco) drills - an asset
