Junise Plastique is looking for a Chief Accountant who is meticulous and committed to playing a key role in the company's financial health.
Reporting to the management, you will be responsible for all accounting and financial activities of two sister companies, including a manufacturing company. You will supervise a small team of two people and directly contribute to improving financial processes and decision-making.

*What you will have the opportunity to do*
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for both companies;
- Perform journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analyses;
- Produce financial reports for management;
- Ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with accounting standards (NCECF).
- Accounting Operations Management
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable;
- Manage vendor payments, cash collections, and customer account tracking;
- Ensure sound management of cash flow and liquidity;
- Optimize accounting processes and internal controls.
- Payroll and Government Obligations
- Collaborate with operations management and human resources to process weekly payrolls;
- Perform withholding tax calculations;
- Produce government remittances (GST/HST, DAS, EI, CPP, QPP, etc.);
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and labor standards.
- Compliance and Audits
- Ensure compliance of both companies with tax and regulatory requirements;
- Prepare files for external audits and tax reviews;
- Monitor legislative and accounting changes.
- Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of two employees;
- Assign priorities and support team development;
- Implement procedures to enhance efficiency and work quality.
- Support to Manufacturing Operations
- Track production costs and inventory;
- Analyze production and yield discrepancies;
- Collaborate closely with production teams to support business decisions.
- *The profile we are looking for*
You are an autonomous, organized individual recognized for your meticulousness. You enjoy taking initiatives, optimizing processes, and working collaboratively with different departments.
You possess:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
- 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting (manufacturing experience is a significant asset);
- Excellent knowledge of general accounting and Quebec and Canadian tax obligations;
- Proficiency in an accounting software (Acomba, Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent);
- Ability to produce complete financial statements;
- Motivational leadership and strong team management skills;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong sense of confidentiality and professional ethics;
- Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written.
