Resulting from a merger in 2013 of 3 forestry cooperatives rooted in Gaspésie, including one since 1944, the Gaspésie Forestry Cooperative employs nearly a hundred employees during the summer season and is an organization whose mission is to provide jobs to its members in the field of forestry work, wood harvesting and transportation, and to promote the regional development of our forest resources!
As an accounting technician, you will be responsible for the:
- Complete maintenance and supervision of monthly accounting (accounts payable/receivable, DAS, tax reports) and end-of-month closings.
- Management and control of payments and receipts: invoicing, bank deposits, check issuance, direct deposits and payroll reports to institutions.
- Supervision of payroll (rates, payments to truck drivers/contractors), bank reconciliations and verification/signature of checks.
- Production and validation of financial reports, treasury management and preparation of the annual audit file in collaboration with management.
- Management of share capital: tracking and administration of cooperative member shares.
- Ensure integrity, compliance and improvement of processes: anti-fraud controls, adherence to policies and laws, inventory tracking.
You will be on your X if you hold
- A college diploma (DEC) in accounting and management, a university certificate or equivalent experience;
- At least 2 years of experience as an accounting technician;
- Good mastery of the Office suite, technological tools and accounting software;
- Mastery of project management modules;
- Knowledge of the administrative and accounting rules of the cooperative sector (asset).
