As a Laboratory Technician, you play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our products. Every day, you perform various analyses, apply established protocols with rigor, and contribute to providing reliable results that support business decisions. Autonomous yet a true team player, you collaborate with various stakeholders to meet the laboratory's needs and participate in its evolution. You also contribute to maintaining the highest quality standards, particularly by supporting activities related to the ISO 17025 quality system.
Main Responsibilities
- You perform organoleptic, physicochemical, microbiological, and chemical analyses.
- You prepare and ship samples for external laboratories.
- You document, archive, and track analysis results with precision.
- You calibrate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment.
- You ensure the maintenance of consumable inventories.
- You contribute to the evaluation of the shelf life of our products.
- You support the maintenance and improvement of the laboratory's quality system, including the SIMDUT program.
- You participate in the production of analysis certificates.
- You maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following good practices.
Qualifications
- You hold a DEC or BAC in food technology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related field.
- You have 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- You are proficient in both French and English, both orally and in writing.
Skills Profile
- You confidently perform organoleptic, physicochemical, microbiological, and chemical analyses.
- You know how to use, calibrate, and maintain various laboratory equipment and instruments.
- You interpret, record, and document results with precision and rigor.
- You apply laboratory health and safety rules, particularly those related to the SIMDUT program.
- You exhibit great rigor and pay close attention to details.
- You effectively organize your work and manage multiple priorities.
- You work autonomously while naturally collaborating with colleagues and partners.
- You act with integrity, reliability, and professionalism in the management of data and results.
- You have a good analytical mindset and enjoy solving problems.
- You are comfortable in a structured environment where deadlines are important.
- You demonstrate flexibility and easily adapt to changes in priorities.
- You can maintain discretion and a high level of professionalism in all circumstances.
Working Conditions and Environment
- You hold a daytime position within our laboratory.
- This is a maternity leave replacement position for an approximate duration of 16 to 18 months, with the possibility of overtime.
- You work according to a schedule spread over a two-week cycle, including one weekend every two weeks.
- Weekend premium of 4$/hour;
- You occasionally handle loads exceeding 30 lb (13.6 kg).
