Senior Sheet Metal Worker – Custom Product Manufacturing

What We Do

At Alfa Mega, we design and manufacture Airvector® ventilation products.

Part of our production is standard.

The other is entirely custom.

Each custom product is different. It's important to understand the drawing, choose the right manufacturing method, organize the work, and deliver a flawless product.

We are looking for a senior sheet metal worker to take charge of these projects from start to finish.

What You Will Do

You will work at the heart of our custom product cell.

Each day is different.

You will be called upon to:

• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Determine the best manufacturing method and sequence.
• Program CNC equipment as needed.
• Prepare setups.
• Manufacture and assemble products.
• Make necessary adjustments during production.
• Solve technical issues when they arise.
• Collaborate with engineering and other departments to continuously improve our products.

You will actively participate in making our custom products simpler, faster, and more robust to manufacture.

What We Are Looking For

• You come from the world of metal fabrication or sheet metal work.
• You understand how to transform a drawing into a real product.
• You enjoy solving problems and improving manufacturing methods.
• You are self-sufficient and naturally take charge of things.
• You appreciate teamwork and sharing your knowledge.

Essential

• Significant experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication.
• Good reading of plans.
• Good understanding of manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, spot welding, and assembly processes.
• Ability to solve technical problems and work autonomously.

Education

• DEP in sheet metal or equivalent experience.
• DEC or AEC in mechanical manufacturing (an asset).

Assets

• CNC programming (Metalix or equivalent).
• Knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Experience in custom products.

• Salary of $35 to $40/hour depending on experience.
