The HRIS & Compensation Specialist supports the design and administration of compensation programs while managing and optimizing HRIS systems. Reporting to the Director, HRIS & Total Rewards, this role ensures compensation practices are competitive and aligned with business goals, and that HR data is accurate, efficient, and leveraged to improve People & Culture processes. The position also serves as a subject matter expert in HRIS functionality, including system enhancements and implementation initiatives.

Compensation

  • Support the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs and policies
  • Coordinate and manage the annual compensation review cycle (merit, bonus, salary adjustments)
  • Conduct job evaluations and maintain job descriptions and grading structures
  • Perform market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitive pay practices
  • Provide compensation analysis and recommendations to support hiring and internal equity
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to compensation

HRIS Management

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and system efficiency
  • Act as the subject matter expert for HRIS functionality, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Support the implementation and harmonization of a new global system, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and consistency across all regions and business units
  • Support HRIS upgrades, enhancements, and implementation projects
  • Develop and maintain HR dashboards, reports, and analytics for decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity through regular audits and data governance practices

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate People & Culture processes
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business leaders to support workforce planning and reporting needs
  • Train and support end-users on HRIS tools and compensation processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Total Rewards and HR systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • 5-8+ years of experience in compensation, HRIS, or a combined HR analytics/total rewards role
  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, job evaluation methodologies, and market benchmarking
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, UKG, Dayforce, SAP SuccessFactors) and HR data management
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and HR reporting tools
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or system optimization projects is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data management
  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with different teams
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compensation regulations is an asset
  • CRHA/CRIA, CCP, or other HR/compensation certifications (or in progress) are considered an asset
  • Proficiency in both French and English. English proficiency is required, as this role involves regular communication and collaboration with clients, business partners, and internal stakeholders located across Canada (outside of Quebec), the United States, and Australia, where English is the primary language used in professional settings.
