Objective and Purpose

  • This position is responsible for developing existing customers and researching new customers from available databases to ensure year-over-year sales growth to meet and/or exceed established sales budgets.
  • This position is responsible for sales and profit growth in assigned territories to meet company targets, budgets, and expectations.

Main Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing daily activities related to the database, including but not limited to:
  • Create pricing structures for each customer.
  • Prepare product quotations.
  • Provide technical leadership and support.
  • Discuss special product requirements and propose to Product Management.
  • Work with the existing customer database to expand their product portfolio.
  • Record sales and contact activities in the available CRM software.
  • Be able to prepare sales and expense budgets and present them to management with detailed justifications and supporting documents.
  • Create Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and distribute them as needed. Once evaluation is complete, Sales Managers must communicate decisions to customers to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Prepare trip reports in the CRM database.
  • Accurately complete trip expenses and submit them to the Sales Director – CAN for approval.
  • Verify the accuracy of all purchase orders before submitting them to sales support for entry.
  • Conduct a minimum of three customer satisfaction surveys per month and record the results in the database.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technology program.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the commercial Building Management Systems (BMS) industry.
  • Relevant industry training completed successfully is considered an asset.

  • Possess the necessary computer skills to work in an office environment with the latest versions of Microsoft Office.
  • Sales managers must have the technical skills to explain product functions and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and work independently without supervision.
  • Business development skills with expertise in territory management and new business development.
  • Strong experience in distribution and channel partner management, able to develop relationships with clients and respond promptly and appropriately to their needs.
