The Courtyard Marriott is located in the heart of Montreal, near the Convention Centre, a few minutes from the world's most famous underground city, Place des Arts, shops and boutiques on the bustling Ste-Catherine Street, and Old Montreal. The hotel offers 212 spacious rooms, conference rooms, indoor pool and whirlpool, fitness room, as well as a restaurant, lounge bar and coffee counter.
JOB OVERVIEW
Under the responsibility of the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager's main role is to prospect physically and by phone, analyze markets and clients, prepare proposals and contracts, complete reports, and achieve sales and marketing objectives.
Responsibilities
Target, solicit, and contract new accounts in determined market segments, such as corporate and group.
Make solicitation calls and inspection visits to establish and maintain long-term business relationships.
Propose specific marketing actions to support market segments and develop existing accounts to reach sales objectives.
Analyze supply and demand and competition to propose sales strategies to different markets.
Enter, maintain, and update information in computer systems and ensure file tracking.
Participate in trade shows, external activities with clients, and make prospecting trips as needed.
Prepare and write weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
Maintain the confidentiality of the hotel's information, including conversations, personal information, and guest files.
Conform to Courtyard Marriott and RIMAP Hospitality standards.
Participate in the "Director in Training" program.
Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sales Manager in the hospitality industry.
College diploma in hotel management, administration, or another related field.
Proficiency in computer skills, MS Office suite.
Proficiency in DELPHI software (an asset).
Maintain a professional appearance and behave maturely and ethically at all times, including external representations.
Have excellent presentation, good elocution, and strong relationship skills to meet the expectations of a diverse corporate clientele.
Strong negotiation and prospecting skills.
Communicate perfectly in English and French, both orally and in writing.
