Join a dynamic team where you will exercise a stimulating dual mandate: supporting students and faculty members of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities at UdeS, as well as contributing to the development of open educational resources (OER) within the fabriqueREL.

This position offers a unique opportunity to combine university librarianship, pedagogical innovation, and collaboration with partners in the Quebec higher education network.

Your Daily Tasks

Part 1 - Librarian for User Services (UdeS)

You support students, faculty members, and research teams of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities in their information needs, information literacy learning, and collection development. Specifically:

  • Provide reference, research assistance, and information literacy training services.
  • Develop collections in the disciplines of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities.
  • Collaborate with faculties, departments, and partners to promote library services.
  • Part 2 - Open Educational Resources (fabriqueREL)

You support faculty members and project teams from higher education institutions in the creation, adaptation, and dissemination of open educational resources, while developing partnerships that promote open education. Specifically, at the scale of the Quebec higher education network:

  • Advise and support faculty members in the design, adaptation, and dissemination of OER.
  • Develop interdisciplinary partnerships and coordinate collaborative projects.
  • Design training programs, pedagogical tools, and activities that promote the integration of OER.
  • Promote open education practices and open licenses.
  • Participate in the strategic development of the fabriqueREL.

  • Temporary full-time position, 35 hours per week, for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

  • Hold a master's degree in librarianship or information science.
  • Have at least 1 year of relevant experience in reference, information literacy training, and collection development, preferably in the university and research environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work in a team and collaborate continuously with different types of stakeholders, particularly in an advisory role to faculty members and various professionals working in the Quebec higher education network.
  • Show initiative, flexibility, and autonomy, and demonstrate notable adaptability to change.
  • Be familiar with the collegial and university environments, information and research services (databases and tools) in the university environment, open educational resources, open licenses, and copyright.
  • Demonstrate a good ability to manage stress, produce quality deliverables, and work with project deadlines and multiple responsibilities, while ensuring the advancement of multiple files simultaneously.
