MEAT MANAGER

The incumbent is a meat enthusiast, recognized for his excellent customer service and his ability to increase sales in his department. He is passionate about providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience.

He is responsible for purchasing and inventory management, provides good customer service and supervises the meat department team.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to increase sales and profitability of the department
• Ensure the supply and marketing of products
• Manage loss prevention and maintain an adequate level of inventory
• Ensure that the receipt of goods respects the cold chain
• Ensure that goods are stored in accordance with established rules
• Make cuts of meat and poultry
• Prepare meats for sale
• Make sure that the displays are well filled with products
• Monitor product quality, expiration dates and ensure product rotation
• Check the temperature of refrigerators and freezers
• Ensure adequate maintenance of equipment, displays and working air
• Ensure the accuracy of prices and product descriptions on labels
• Ensure the order and cleanliness of the department and the department
• Lead, coach and motivate your team to improve productivity
• Supervise the production of his team and ensure that employees respect the working methods and established rules
• Ensure the welcome and integration of new employees and ensure their training
• Ensure that employees comply with hygiene and sanitation standards and those of OHS

Job Requirements

• Five years of experience in management of the meat department.
• DEP – Retail Butcher or equivalent (an asset)
• Good knowledge of French (Bilingualism will be an asset)
• Available for flexible hours (Including weekends)

• Ability to work quickly and under pressure
• Ability to lift loads (40 lbs) and work in the cold
