Description
Under the authority of the Director of Economic Development, the Business Financing Advisor supports and advises entrepreneurs in structuring their financing and accessing public, private, and para-public programs. They manage the FLI, FLS, and PAUPME funds. The main challenge is to provide high-quality support to entrepreneurs while conducting rigorous dossier analysis, ensuring the sustainability of financing programs and the availability of funds.
Main Tasks and Functions
- Advise entrepreneurs on structuring their financing and mobilizing suitable funding sources.
- Receive and analyze financial aid requests (FLI, FLS, PAUPME): verify eligibility, write the analysis report, and submit the recommendation to the investment committee.
- Inform clients of the committee's decision and follow up on accepted dossiers.
- Regularly monitor active portfolios and initiate collection procedures in case of default.
- Support colleagues in startup, growth, and prospecting dossiers for financial strategy and financial structuring.
- Promote the services of Joliette MRC and develop relationships with local, regional, and institutional partners.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in administration, accounting, or finance, or any combination of education and experience deemed relevant.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise financing, credit analysis, or entrepreneurial support.
- Knowledge of programs and organizations, e.g., SADC, Investissement Québec, BDC, DEC, etc.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate the financial viability of a project.
- Analytical rigor, team spirit, organizational sense, integrity, and discretion.
- Proficiency in the Office suite.
Compensation and Working Conditions
- Work location: 1355 rue Lépine, Joliette.
- Permanent position, 35 hours per week.
