As a Benefits Advisor, you act as a resource person for employees and internal partners regarding social benefits programs, pension plans, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and telemedicine services.

You ensure complete, rigorous, and compliant administration of collective insurance, pension plans, and related programs for both unionized and non-unionized employees. In this role, you ensure data accuracy, adherence to established practices, and continuous process improvement, in close collaboration with the Director, Total Compensation and HR Systems.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop, analyze, and improve social benefits programs
  • Act as a resource person and advisor to employees regarding social benefits programs
  • Inform staff, individually or in groups, about various social benefits programs and their operation
  • Present collective insurance, pension plans, the EAP, and telemedicine services during onboarding training for both unionized and non-unionized employee groups
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding social benefits and pension plans
  • Administer all social benefits programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding collective insurance and pension funds
  • Verify, analyze, and process payment requisitions for monthly invoices related to collective insurance premiums and pension plans
  • Ensure the administrative process related to premium recovery and absence tracking (short-term and long-term disability, unpaid leave, etc.), in collaboration with the relevant parties
  • Administer the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and telemedicine services, including operational coordination with providers and administrative follow-up
  • Disseminate and promote information about the EAP and telemedicine to employees, ensuring appropriate orientation and confidentiality
  • Collaborate with the Director, Total Compensation and HR Systems, in the context of renewals of collective insurance, pension plans, the EAP, and telemedicine services, including preparation of the required data
  • Organize, coordinate, and participate in pension committees, including technical support and decision tracking
  • Organize annual general meetings of pension plans
  • Actively participate in process optimization and continuous improvement of practices related to social benefits
  • Collaborate with the relevant teams (payroll, HRIS, HR) to ensure consistency of information related to social benefits
  • Collaborate on the implementation and promotion of initiatives related to employee well-being, in connection with social benefits programs
  • Support the team responsible for coordinating events for the service recognition program, including communication to employees
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by your immediate supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, college diploma in administration, human resources management, or any other relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience in the administration of social benefits and pension plans
  • Experience working in a unionized environment (an asset)
  • Good knowledge of collective insurance, pension plans, and employee assistance programs
  • Ability to perform a consulting role for employees and internal partners
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and explanation skills
  • Meticulousness, autonomy, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Functional knowledge of English, both oral and written (an asset)
