As a Senior Systems Developer, you are a key driver of a comprehensive team responsible for designing system-based solutions. You create programs, design and maintain code, and document processes to ensure consistency and continuous improvement. You contribute to a wide range of highly complex and diverse team projects and provide training and support to your team members.
Technologies you know:
- You have experience with at least one of the Guidewire suite products – PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter.
- You have experience with JIRA, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence, or similar tools.
- Experience with Guidewire Extension modules, Message Broker, REST/SOAP services, or Informatica is an asset.
- How you create impact:
- Lead the process of developing a coherent plan to determine technologies and options for finding a functional solution.
- Develop new code and leverage existing code to implement medium to large complexity system features.
- Create an implementation and troubleshooting plan for a unique system.
- Identify and recommend solutions for application defects, determine causes, and minimize the introduction of new defects.
- Perform unit testing and project management activities for small to medium initiatives, lead system development project teams, and provide guidance to junior team members.

- To join our team:
- You have five years of experience in information technology or a related field.
- You hold a post-secondary diploma in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- You have five or more years of experience as a developer supporting the Guidewire product suite throughout the lifecycle of system delivery and development.
- Three or more years of experience in object-oriented programming languages using JAVA technology is an asset.
- You have experience in designing and developing solutions for the development of new product features and behavior-driven or test-based code improvement, as well as configuring code reviews and providing technical advice to others.

Salary scale/expected rate range of $72,847 to $121,411 (minimum and maximum, full scale).

The salary of the selected candidate is determined by Co-operators, at its discretion, and varies based on several factors, including: local market conditions, geographic region, and other position-relevant factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation based on individual or company performance, or other business measures.
