The Senior Community Development Manager plays a key role in developing global community engagement strategies to retain players, both within and outside their gaming experiences. They will be responsible for establishing and developing our global communities around Ubisoft games, leveraging their skills in player communication, game improvement, and experience feedback cycles, as well as deployment and maintenance of best practices. As a key strategic partner, they will prioritize global commercial growth opportunities by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, while driving the global community strategy, developing and implementing global plans, and working with an international, decentralized team that aims to build relationships and earn the trust of players worldwide. In this role, they will also leverage their expertise to support their peers and cross-functional team members, fostering collaborative planning, developing strong synergies, and delivering on commitments according to high-quality standards. As a leader within the global community team, they will work closely with the main development studios.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and implement strategic community plans through various content strategies that support production objectives and strengthen the global marketing strategy.
  • Coordinate communication, activities, and initiatives with several international services to ensure message consistency and homogeneity.
  • Leverage Community Managers, cross-functional teams, and partner resources to create relevant content for our players (e.g., blogs, podcasts, interviews, infographics, etc.).
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the assigned brand(s). Coordinate community-focused events, including but not limited to: fan studio visits, developer dialogues, and tournaments.
  • Collaborate with the portfolio social media manager to define and report on content-related KPIs, demonstrating the success and ROI of community programs and content.
  • Support key internal and external steps, such as betas and launches, to ensure KPIs are met and the player experience is defended.
  • Serve as the primary representative of player needs within production and publishing teams to positively influence development and communication positioning on behalf of our players and business objectives.
  • Establish player feedback cycles and provide analysis to production and publishing teams to influence the gaming experience, drive user loyalty, and contribute to message and marketing campaign positioning.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with operational teams for post-launch communication. Define expectations regarding relevant situations, such as update content, status, and deployment.
  • Manage and produce internal reports on community feedback, activity, and expectations.
  • Serve as a recognized expert in the field, both for the project and the broader global community team, and mentor Community Managers and peers.
  • Adopt a ROI-focused approach by making thoughtful decisions that promote efficiency while demonstrating strategy in the use of available resources.
  • Take the initiative to define best practices for generating impact and proactively share them with the entire community team.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for synergies between cross-functional teams.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to support departmental key objectives and outcomes.
  • International travel may be required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Extensive experience in online community management and the direction of strategic plan or program development that has resulted in tangible successes.
  • Extensive experience in the video game industry, covering multiple platforms, genres, and AAA game launches (required).
  • In-depth knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.) is required.
  • Experience working in a demanding production environment, with multiple deadlines, objectives, and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of creating and maintaining the growth of video game communities, as well as developing and implementing player engagement strategic plans.
  • Proven experience collaborating with various stakeholders to analyze and implement player feedback.
  • Experience in social media marketing is a major asset.
  • Experience in creating digital content (videos, photos, podcasts, etc.) is a major asset.
  • Proficiency in French.
