Payroll Technician (Replacement – 6-Month Sick Leave)
Under the Finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of payroll-related activities. You will ensure compliance with company policies, collective agreements, and government requirements. You will also participate in the complete weekly payroll cycle for our employees.
Main Responsibilities
- Complete the full payroll cycle for approximately 430 employees (unionized and non-unionized)
- Manage vacations, holidays, time banks, and sick leave in accordance with the collective agreement
- Perform government remittances, prepare T4s, Statement 1s, and annual summaries on the Dayforce platform (if necessary)
- Produce employment statements
- Prepare payroll-related accounting entries
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries
Desired Profile
- DEC or university degree in accounting, administration, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in complete payroll processing
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM or comparable payroll software (an asset)
- Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) or in the process of obtaining it (an asset)
- Excellent French language skills, both oral and written
- Knowledge of English (an asset)
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation
- Sense of organization, attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to manage priorities in a time-sensitive environment
