ArcelorMittal Mining Canada is seeking a mechanical scheduler who reports to the head of the Planning and Reliability section in mine maintenance. He is responsible for planning, according to the expectations of asset reliability management (ARM), all the logistics of a work necessary for the scheduled phase to take place at a future date within a determined range.
Schedule
Please note that this position is based in Fermont on a 14-14 shift. This means you will work fourteen (14) consecutive days, followed by fourteen (14) days off.

Main responsibilities
- Specifies the precautions to be taken regarding health, safety and the environment, the applicable maintenance standards, the allocated budgets, the required resources as well as any special instruction for the execution of the work, all this including the necessary procedures, AST, etc.;
- Optimizes the availability, performance and reliability of assets as well as the productivity of workers during the execution of the task;
- Plans and schedules, according to the expectations of asset reliability management (ARM), all the logistics of the necessary maintenance work for the scheduled phase to take place at a future date within a determined range;
- Collects information from inspections, asset maintenance programs (AMP), asset monitoring and work requests as well as from foremen. As a natural team, the scheduler will edit a schedule for the next week, based on the identified risk management in the team;
- Plans the needs for parts, equipment and materials required for the execution of the work;
- Makes procurement requests and follows up with Inventory Management to ensure the availability of resources according to the established execution schedules;
- Participates in the improvement of good maintenance planning practices;
Ensures that the GMAO supports the planning and scheduling process.
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) in a technical field or any other training or experience deemed equivalent;
- 5 years of experience in the field;
- Experience in supervision, an asset;
- Experience working on mobile heavy equipment, an asset;
- Good knowledge of computer tools (maintenance management software, project management software, etc.);
- Bilingual (French/English);
- Health-safety oriented behavior;
- Rigor and attention to detail;
Teamwork and leadership.
