ArcelorMittal Mines and Infrastructure Canada is seeking a Railway Maintenance Supervisor in Port-Cartier, who will work under the supervision of the Railway Maintenance Coordinator. Your role will consist of planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the work carried out in your area of activity, in compliance with the applicable health and safety and environmental policies and the company's values. You will facilitate collaboration so that everyone works towards a common goal by closely supervising human and material resources and rigorously tracking the progress of work to meet the established deadlines, costs, and productivity levels. Through your leadership, you will be the bearer of decisions within your team and stimulate continuous improvement and operational excellence to enhance results.
Working Hours and Location
This position is based in Port-Cartier on a 7-7 schedule, meaning seven (7) consecutive days of work, twelve (12) hours per day, followed by seven (7) days of leave.

Main Responsibilities
- Supervises the work of your team in compliance with rules, methods, policies, productivity, and deadlines;
- Ensures the execution of maintenance tasks, equipment inspections, maintains quality, and exercises good judgment in defining repair priorities during unexpected breakdowns;
- Applies the health, safety, and environmental programs of the service to ensure the physical integrity of personnel, proper use of equipment, and compliance with methods and procedures by employees during work execution;
- Actively participates in lockout verification activities, safety inspections, accident analysis and investigation, as well as the preparation and facilitation of safety meetings;
- Actively participates in various personnel interventions, such as supervision, training, discipline, safety, and discussions with union representatives regarding grievances and other human resources management issues;
- Communicates and establishes harmonious relationships with employees, other services, internal clients, and others;
- Encourages employee involvement in improvement projects, solicits their ideas, and empowers them;
- Tracks improvement projects in your sector to reduce costs.
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) in an appropriate discipline or equivalent;
- Experience in railway maintenance and/or team supervision (an asset);
- Self-sufficient and available;
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and employee mobilization skills;
- Good knowledge of railway equipment and laws and regulations related to the railway;
- Good ability to use computer tools and produce reports and perform various administrative tasks;
- Has a strong commitment to health and safety and demonstrates excellent rigor in actions.
