Verdun Borough, known for its dynamism and cultural richness, is facing certain challenges in urban cleanliness. Excessive consumption and the evolution of lifestyle habits have led to an exponential increase in the production of waste. This accumulation has consequences: it puts pressure on landfills, contributes to pollution, and represents an unsustainable use of resources. Issues such as waste management, the prevention of illegal dumping of waste outside designated areas, known as wild dumps, and the fight against vandalism require the implementation of innovative and inclusive solutions. Effective management of cleanliness in public spaces has therefore become a central concern to ensure the well-being of the community.
Your Mandate
You carry out tasks related to the enforcement and application of municipal regulations, agreements, and authorizations in various areas of public and private sectors. You conduct inspections, inform the population and construction site managers about municipal regulations, conduct surveys, and verify situations within your area of expertise. Additionally, you issue opinions and violation notices and take the necessary steps to resolve non-compliance situations. You also report problematic or urgent situations that may compromise the safety of citizens. More specifically, you:
- conduct inspections and surveys, report damage to municipal assets and urban furniture, record nuisances and anomalies or non-compliances related to various municipal regulations;
- inform the concerned persons about the regulations, services, and municipal processes, including those related to waste management, different collections, and other activities within your scope;
- determine whether an opinion or notice should be issued, take the necessary steps to identify the responsible parties for violations of regulations, and meet with the concerned persons to explain the required adjustments;
- prepare files for judicial proceedings, conduct the required analyses and investigations to gather the necessary evidence, and testify in court in cases within your competence;
- provide the necessary instructions to the concerned persons for the execution of work, evaluate the quality of the work, issue directives, and make recommendations, if necessary.
