VIF Group is looking for a Conventional Machinist Assistant to support manufacturing, maintenance, and repair activities of molds and industrial equipment.

Our factory produces a wide variety of plastic products, mainly for the in-ground pool and motorized vehicle sectors. By joining our team, you will directly participate in the manufacture and maintenance of the tools that ensure the success of our operations.

• Your role

As a Conventional Machinist Assistant, you will assist machinists and toolmakers in machining, mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair work on production equipment and molds.

You will participate in various technical tasks that will allow you to develop your knowledge in industrial mechanics and machining.

Main responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of molds and equipment.
• Assist machinists in conventional machining operations.
• Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, and deburring work.
• Perform mechanical repairs on molds and equipment.
• Participate in preventive maintenance of shop tools and equipment.
• Perform various welding and fabrication work.
• Prepare parts and materials for machining.
• Use basic measuring instruments to validate dimensions.
• Maintain the shop clean, organized, and safe.
• Comply with health and safety regulations.

Desired profile

• Experience in mechanics, welding, machining, or industrial fabrication.
• Good aptitude for manual work.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings (an asset).
• Resourcefulness and desire to learn.
• Good physical condition.
• Team spirit and positive attitude.
• Sense of organization and concern for quality work.
