High Pressure Welder-Assembler

The welder-assembler performs operations to assemble and weld chambers for dryers and other products manufactured by the company, in accordance with submitted plans, welding procedures, environmental procedures, and the company's health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret welding plans or instructions;
• Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to weld metal pieces (MCAW, GTAW, and GMAW);
• Use manual or semi-automatic flame cutters;
• Perform high-pressure welding operations;
• Perform assembly operations on pressure vessels;
• Perform piping assembly;
• Perform other related tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements for this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities would be acceptable:

• Professional Studies Diploma (DEP) in welding-assembly.
• Professional Specialization Certificate (ASP) in high-pressure welding.
• Experience welding a piece using a positioner (asset).
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
• ASME certification required.
• Knowledge of different welding processes (MCAW, GTAW, and GMAW).
• Able to read and understand plans to reproduce the indicated maneuvers.
• Ability to assemble products to be welded.
• Experience in welding reservoirs or piping (position 6G is an asset).
• Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Autonomy, punctuality, and reliability.
• Teamwork skills.
• PRE-HIRE TEST:

Reading basic plans with welding symbols.

Horizontal full-penetration welding test and a bending test.

• Must be able to lift heavy pieces weighing up to 50 pounds.
