Heavy-Duty Delivery Driver (Class 1)

The incumbent will deliver goods using a heavy-duty vehicle (Class 1). They will also handle the products during deliveries and always apply road safety and occupational health and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive a heavy-duty vehicle (Class 1) in a safe and professional manner;
• Perform a mechanical inspection of the vehicle before departure (safety round) and complete the required reports;
• Load and unload merchandise with customers;
• Perform manual handling of loads up to 40 kg;
• Use a manual or electric pallet truck as needed;
• Ensure the delivery of orders as per requirements;
• Manage the return of goods and complete the required documents;
• Follow internal procedures and health and safety rules.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged driving (several hours per day);
• Frequent getting in and out of the vehicle;
• Repetitive handling of loads up to 40 kg;
• Varied postures: walking, prolonged standing, bending, and twisting;
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during deliveries.

Job Requirements are

• Hold a valid driver's license including Class 1;
• Have 1 year of experience in driving vehicles related to the required class (asset);
• Experience in delivering food products (an asset);
• Have an excellent driving record.
